A group of our pupils were lucky enough to be involved in this project run by Tameside MBC and Oldham Coliseum Theatre, funded by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation.

Working under the direction of Sarah Eastaff from Oldham Coliseum, the pupils devised a short piece based on the themes of 'loyalty' and 'super-heroes'.

The project was run as an authentic, professional-style theatre experience - involving script-reading sessions, rehearsals at school, and technical and dress rehearsals at the theatre, culminating in an evening performance watched by over 200 people!

The day started at 6 AM when we met at the staff car park and walked to Flowery Field train station. The journey to London was fantastic! Shania slept most of the journey whilst Tyler chatted to Mr McBurnie and shared a packet of biscuits.
The pupils were excited about the trip, but it was evident they were also nervous.

On Thursday 28th November, our top dance squad represented school at the Dance Festival at Samuel Laycock School.

Shania, Emily, Mark, Charleigh and Josh H danced like a real street dance crew, looking really fabulous in their new t-shirt, dance pants and cap combo's.

Their performance was polished and professional and the audience loved them!

The teachers who accompanied them - MIss Mac, Mrs Butler and Mrs Southall, were so proud of them all!

Special mention to our Year 9's - Shania and Mark.

Pupils and staff held a charity stall at Ashton Market on Tuesday 8th November where we raised just over £100. Together with another event, we have raised a total of just over £250 which will be donated to Reuben’s Retreat.
