Welcome to Thomas Ashton School. Please have a look around our website to find out more about our fantastic school. Learn about the things we do that help our pupils to feel safe, have fun and, above all, make progress with their learning. Find out how we all work together to help improve the life chances of our pupils, through the quality of the learning and teaching experiences we deliver, to the dedication and support we give to our pupils and their families.
We take seriously the responsibility for helping our pupils to learn and to grow. A friendly and caring staff, we are all passionate to see our pupils be successful. We work hard to help them overcome or manage their issues so that they can make the best of their time with us. We want to see them all move on to KS4, or back into mainstream education, with a solid foundation of learning, a strong sense of self-worth and high aspirations upon which to build.
I am very proud to be able to lead a team of dedicated and professional staff. I believe that Thomas Ashton School will make a difference to the lives of any young person who comes to our school. Once you have looked around the website, if there is anything more you would like to know, please do not hesitate to contact me at school if you feel I can help you further.
Thomas Ashton School is part of the local offer for Tameside Local Authority, and together with the other special schools in Tameside, we seek to ensure the best pathway can be offered for any child who is in need of something more than a mainstream school can provide. Together, we will offer progression, depending on need, for children from early years through to post 16 provision. In Tameside every child does matter, and at Thomas Ashton School you will find this to be especially true.
