Whilst the KS3 football team have already played this season, Thomas Ashton School, in partnership with our sports providers Active Tameside, arranged a special football match for our KS2 pupils.
The match was played on the 18th October at the Medlock Leisure Centre against Parochial School, a mainstream primary school in Tameside.
The purpose for the football match was to give our younger pupils the opportunity to participate in something they would enjoy, at the same time promoting social skills, communication and teamwork.

Thomas Ashton School football team have been practising their football skills since the beginning of the year in September. The football team is made up of a mixture of Year 7 and Year 8 pupils.
We have always had a football team, and each year the players have worked hard and shown good skills and a great attitude.
And this year is no different! We were over the moon when the team managed to achieve their first win on 9th March 2016, narrowly beating Hyde Community College.

On the 22nd of April the Thomas Ashton School Football team had their first match of the year. The result did not go our way, but there were lots of positives to take from the game. The main positives, were the hard work and determination shown by the pupils.

All of the pupils and coaches would like to thank everyone for their support, and we look forward to our next game.

Well done everyone!
