Reu the Gnu

I am sure you are all familiar with the charity we support called ‘Reuben’s Retreat’. An author called Victoria Trundle has written a story on behalf of the charity called ‘Reu the Rainbow Gnu’.

We were very lucky to have the chance for Victoria to come into school on Tuesday afternoon and read her story to some of our pupils. And as a special surprise, Victoria actually brought Reu with her to meet the children!

This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils and those that attended really enjoyed the experience, and they all thought Reu was brilliant. He was a lot bigger and cuter than they imagined, though none of the kids actually knew what he looked like.

We ran an art competition earlier in the week, where we asked our pupils to draw what they imagined Reu the Rainbow Gnu would look like and the results were brilliant. We have made these into a booklet and we let Victoria take one with her.

We would like to thank all involved for this fantastic opportunity.

PS. If you want to know more about the book please visit Reuben’s website at:
