Walsh group have been reading the book ‘Unbearable’ by Paul Jennings. It contains a series of short stories.
Paul Jennings was born in 1943 and emigrated to Australia aged six.
Paul’s stories are funny, weird and wacky with surprising endings.
He wants all children to have their noses in the same books and reluctant readers to discover that reading is fun.
The group have enjoyed reading the stories and especially predicting their endings. They have been learning how to retrieve information from text and also look at story settings, characters and so on.
They have found them funny and some of the stories have sparked some interesting discussions in class.
